Our Goal

Purrfect Honey is more than just raw and local, it’s made in backyard hives—maybe even your neighbor’s yard! That’s the concept behind us and our mission. Bees are integrated into our local ecosystem through a network of backyard hive, which benefits much more people versus keeping them in a distant apiary.

Our goal is to continue to raise the San Francisco Bay Area bee population, as well spread awareness & education amongst the community. Simon Buxton once shared,

“The future of bees is not in one beekeeper keeping 60,000 hives, but in 60,000 keepers with one hive each.”

Our honeybees adopted us a few years ago by swarming a vine on the back fence. Now all of “the girls” are shared with future beekeepers in hopes that they may one day host a hive in their own urban backyard, family farm, school garden, or even on high-end hotel rooftop. Just one hive is less work then gardening or having a cat or dog (Hobbes can agree), and is essential for our food supply and well-being. Don’t bee a buzz kill. 😉 Thanks for your help. 🙂

Sincerely,

~ Alison & Hobbes (and our growing bee family)
